meh, it was interesting in parts, but the whole bush is going to kill us all is getting old, I accepted that years ago. I think all the hype just killed it.

That's interesting. I have issues with it, but I would say it definitely kept my attention. Mr. Moore is a brilliant editor.

a "licks my nut-sac" editor? Another classy, well thought out post by stirfry! If you didn't notice, the guy was agreeing (at least in part) with your opinion of the film.

Yeah, I'm not really sure what's going on here.

It's funny, I think Michael Moore's movies are always very entertaining. He knows how to put a movie together and make it interesting, at least in my mind. What really irritates me about his movies is that there's so much misleading data and/or outright lies. When it comes to the Bush administration, there's enough to make a case where you don't have to so severely mislead and distort. I was especially unimpressed with the montage of Bush greeting the Saudi Arabians, as though that proved anything. He's the commander in chief, that means sometimes you shake hands with world leaders. And while I don't have some sort of Pollyana worldview where everyone in the middle east is great and perfect and all that, what's with the xenophobia implicit in those scenes? Just because someone is Saudi doesn't mean they're going to cheer 9/11.

Still, none of that has anything to do with his filmmaking, which I think is uniformly excellent. If you disagree, see more political documentaries. Well, if you were bored during Fahrenheit 9/11, maybe you won't want to do that.

Edit: Hey, this thread has changed since I started typing. Umm....jell-o wrestling, bitches!

I'm closer.

Plus, its not a fight. I'm just pointing out that just as Moore may have quotes that he is not proud of, clearly mr Koenigsegg does as well.

my only problem with that statement is that people seem to think that it is some big, dark secret of mine that i used to be a liberal. or a christian. or a conservative (before now). or straight edge. or buddhist.

HEY, WORLD. I CHANGE MY MIND. AND I'LL PROBABLY DO IT AGAIN. WHOOPITY DOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I didn't read that all the way through, because it starts out ad hominem, which is just ugly. But I caught this:

In one case, he took a speech of a person he desired to target; the problem was that the speech was in fact conciliatory and mild. So he spliced in footage from another speech, cut out paragraphs, and spliced the beginning of one sentence to the ending of another. In another, when he wanted to criticize a political advertisement, but it wasn't as pointed as he wanted, he spliced together two different political ads, then added titling which was in neither.

By brilliant I did not mean virtuous or even truthful. This quote is my exact point. I would be terrified of being interviewed by him. He is very cunning and provocative.
