does anyone know if there is such a thing as getting refunds or discounts from airlines if you are flying to a family member's funeral?
i know george tried to do that in that one episode of seinfeld.
i hate having to squabble about prices when it comes to something like this. but right now it looks like ill be spending almost 1 month's pay for a last minute flight.
any help would be appreciated

and i still managed to find cheaper airfare than all of my relatives by using the interweb.

i felt kinda shitty being stingey on prices when i was supposed to be thinking about my grandma. frown

Have you tried Travelocity? They might have some cheap, last-minute fares in the interest of filling seats.

Also, call the airline. Some are happy to give a huge discount in order to fill a seat. Most of them hate empty seats, so they'll take what they can get.

I'm sorry for your loss.
