Right here, bitches.

I think this just went up - I ran a search and just saw news of this being made posted so far. Either way, something to note: this movie is stop-motion animation, and not CG. I could have SWORN it was CG made to look stop-motion. Absolutely amazing. I am giddy with excitement.

Fantastic - I'm really glad to see Burton returning to this medium. After Big Fish I was terrified he was going to pull a total 'Kevin Smith' on us.

But yeah. Merchandise-o-rama on this one.

not to be a naysayer but this just reeks of nbxmas.
i guess thats just his style but ...ehhh.
it still looks fun and i'll be on line to see it when it opens but the guy has the same jack skellington body, the corpse bride looks an awful lot like sally. the fat guy looks a lot like the mayor, and you have another dead dog.

eh, still looks fun.

Yeah, the thing is, I'm going to do a preemptive strike. The first goth-wannabe fag I see wandering around with some Corpse Bride tote-bag is going to get punched in the throat until they die. Similar results await everyone I see after that with the merchandise. Hopefully word will get out in the LA area that people who buy Corpse Bride shit have an increased risk of being punched to death by some skinny nerd and then the sales, at least in my neighborhood, will taper off. smile

Fuck that, what if Danny Elfman says no to him? I've seen some cool Burton movies without Depp, but Elfman's scores are just fucking necessary when you venture into full-on Burton territory.

That's funny, I dont think he ever did this medium before....

Because you know....that Nightmare Before Christmas movie? Yea, the one that has Tim Burton's name bigger than the title of the movie?

Have a look at who the director is, look at the writing credits.....hey, lookit that. Not Tim Burton. He was only an exec producer, and the story was based on ONE SKETCH and ONE POEM.

Hmmm. He's not directing/writing Corpse Bride either, but $20 says his name is bigger than the title and people declare him a genius.

Okay, where the hell are you getting that Nightmare was based on one sketch and one poem? I mean, I guess technically you're right, but it implies that that was all the work Tim Burton did on it, which is wrong. The concept for the movie was a poem and sketch of Jack Skellington he had, but he did a ton of sketches for the world. He's an animator, it used to be his job to do that shit. And, as long as we're being technical, he's a producer, not executive producer, the difference being that an executive producer often (not always) is a luxury title for someone who has money in the movie. He was involved in the production of the movie. It was tagged with his name because he was an established name by that time. Also, his old short film "Vincent" was stop-motion, so it would be a return of sorts.

And yes, as a point of fact, he is co-director of The Corpse Bride. The other one is a new director who worked on James and the Giant Peach named Mike Johnson.
