I'd love to have a computer good enough to play any of these games. I've always wanted to try an MMORPG but I'm afraid that it'll suck me in wink

Not that I would know, but everything pales in comparison to Gemstone.

I played that. I started playing in 1997, but when they started charging for it (it used to be free on AOL games waaaay back in the day) I had to stop eventually. The only other one I played isn't really an MMORPG, but is kinda cool, is Earth 2025. Anyone ever play that?

I was interested in playing The Matrix Online, but I have no time to put into an MMORPG anymore.

I remember liking Phantasy Star Online/Universe until I saw all there was to see. (Which, you know, didn't take all that long.) I generally don't cotton to MMO's... the installation times, the amount of shit you have to download, updates, all of that. Once a game takes effort to play beyond just putting in a disc and hitting 'power,' it is officially not worth the effort. FFXI was okay, but not fun enough to warrant a monthly fee. WoW struck me as being a very expensive version of Diablo II. I've just never been big on the idea of turn-based or point-and-click style fights in an online game. The minute technology has come far enough to have an MMO with fights more akin to Devil May Cry, then I'll be interested. I still might not be willing to shill out a monthly fee for something I already paid $60 for.... and they need to be on consoles sooner. Gaming rigs are too much money and effort.

I'm currently playing WoW, although I haven't played in like two whole weeks now...

I used to play FFXI, but it was a horrible HORRIBLE experience, of which I will never speak of. I also tried City of Villains for a while which was kinda fun, what with the powers and sweet visual customization, but as mentioned above, it got boring really quick.

Wow seeing as some people play/played like 10 of these things dosent make me feel so bad about getting sucked into guildwars while i was layed off for a month. Most games of this type get really repeative after you beat it once though.

I played WoW, lost interest finally. Started 3 days after realease, and quit about 2 weeks ago. I went back to playing DotA(not really an MMORPG, but i consider it one) which is a custom map on Warcraft3. Mainly, I've been anticipation the release of Warhammer: Age of Reckoning. By the looks of it, it will revolutionize RPG's the way Everquest did. Cannot freakin wait, already got my open beta codes.

Star Wars Galaxies. Since the week it was launched. Still hangin in on Sunrunner.

City of Heroes. Canceling that one. "Go here, Kill that" got old real fast.

[Edited on Jan 20, 2005 by DarthSmurf]

I also played SWG on Sunrunner, a first week vet myself, and I think it was the most entertaining game I've ever played, but after the second combat engine change I dropped out.

I played WoW for a long time, but it became like a second job and I realized that I needed to put it down and do something more productive. I still miss it sometimes, but overall I'm more content.
