Alright, so I'm quitting smoking and using the patch. My question is has/does anyone else get really strange dreams? I usually dream fairly frequently, but my dreams seem longer, and more vivid than usual. I usually leave it on while I sleep, so I know that's the main reason for some of these strange dreams. I don't mind these dreams, just curious.

Are they like really good dreams? Or bad dreams or neutral?

Nightmares while on Nicoderm is a completely normal and even listed side effect. I think it was Fractal that had the same problem. I'm on a bunch of medications right now and I always have really vivid intense dreams, but, not necessarily nightmares.

If you are using a 24-hour patch and begin having unusual dreams or disturbed sleep, you may take the patch off before going to bed and put a new one on after you wake up the next morning.

Did your patch come with a patient information leaflet? Did that mention dreams?

Most of them are pretty good. I've only had about two that were disturbing, the rest were fairly neutral.

Yeah, I read the brochure and remember it saying something about dreams, but I was just curious how common that side effect is.

So you're telling me I should only wear one at a time? eeek
Those would probably be classified as nightmares. I'd probably never want to look at another cigarette again. I certainly would'nt be the one to try it though.

Yeah, I had nightmares from the patch. They stopped when I took off the patch and bought a pack of cigarettes.

It's probably because I was used to not have nicotine intake during the sleeping hours.

I was on it for about 2.5 years. I had no interest in quiting nicotine - just lung cancer.
[Edit to add]
For long term use, buy the 21 mg patches, and cut them in half or thirds - saves a lot of money
