I thought it said that a Satanist was beaten up IN a metal club. That would be odd.

Again, I would love to learn more about this religion. Personally I don't even see how it qualifies, it seems like it stole everything from other religions

If we used that as a standard Christianity would be the first out the door.

If your own full brother, or your son or daughter, or your beloved wife, or you intimate friend, entices you secretly to serve other gods, whom you and your fathers have not known, gods of any other nations, near at hand or far away, from one end of the earth to the other: do not yield to him or listen to him, nor look with pity upon him, to spare or shield him, but kill him. Your hand shall be the first raised to slay him; the rest of the people shall join in with you. You shall stone him to death, because he sought to lead you astray from the Lord, your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, that place of slavery.

Deuteronomy 13:7

The Bible flat out tells you to kill anyone who doesn't believe in God. Nice boys in a Christian sence I suppose. whatever

Hate crimes are nothing more than thought crimes, in which people are punished for what they think, not for what they do, the Libertarian Party noted.

So those kids were only "thinking" about assaulting some guy for his beliefs?

Cthulhu is much more interesting than Satan.
and besides Milton Satan is just a /don't rebel against the powers that be/ charecter.

But seriously why not make a new name for a new way of thinking especially if you want to distance youself self from "stupid (people who judged me and made me feel bad about myself)?"

Probably already been said...but all crimes are hate crimes. Those laws are just a way of telling people they should be treated differently because they're different from other people. It just reenforces racism, sexism, and other such bigotry.

But until these laws get repealed, make damn sure you don't beat up someone if they look, think, act, or feel differently than you do. 'Cause, by God, this is America, and we're fucking different!

aren't satanists a religious minority?

An ice scrapper? That's kind of random. A metal bat is understandable but using the thing that gets frost off my wind shield to kick someone's ass is just odd. That's like saying "A man was severly beaten by two teenagers wielding a metal club and a jug of low fat milk. When arriveing at the hospital the man had two broken arms and was very wet and sticky from milk that had gone bad."

I was thinking the same thing...I've been in a lot of scraps. I've taken a metal club up side the head a time or two...but this is the absolute first time I've heard of an ice scraper being used as a weapon.

We seem to have digressed. The two dipshits beat a kid with weapons. They should be punished, and will be. The extent of the punishment I leave up to someone who knows more about the situation. Hate crimes are terrible and insane. They show so much lack of insight. Everyone has a right to practice any belief as long as it doesn’t intrude on someone else’s right to do the same. I love that people can still have religious debates, but it seems stupid to assume you’re the ‘special’ person that knows best.
