After a patron saw the book on a prominent shelf of bestsellers at the Houston Public Library, [Houston Mayor Bill White] complained to his city council member. "For me, it doesn't matter what my personal opinion is on these types of books. This issue is about how we display it and promote it and how we protect our children from these types of books," council member Pam Holm told KHOU. Now White has ordered the library to keep the book behind the counter--not that it's been that easy to find, since copies have been regularly checked out. "Customers generally expect us to have books that are on the bestseller list. So they come in expecting that we'll have it," said library spokesperson Sandra Fernandez.
Good God, how big are the librarian’s counter? How many books do they keep back there?
I can't help but think of my conservative hometown -- never in a million years (or atleast a few hundred) would they get a book like that in the town library.

Step one: smack her with your dick a few times.
Step two: try to pound her cervix into her skull.
Step three: shove her head in a toilet.
Step four: come in her hair.
That's some sweet lovemaking.
Jenna Jameson hasn't done an M/F scene in like 5 years. She's famous enough to just do girl-girl scenes. She's not really a porn star anymore, she's just a celebrity who's done porn.

I actually don't see anything wrong with this. as long as the book is accessible and whoever wishes to check it out knows it's available behind the counter then that's really all that matters. I understand the principle behind why it's wrong but I don't necessarily think it's that big of a deal.

I think you're taking what I said way too seriously.
<blush> I read it, it rocked. Sex, drugs, rock n roll all under one cover. And who could forget Jenna's famous tattoo on her bootie "heartbreaker".
Where to place it in a library, I am not too sure about that...I guess under biographys? If Henry Rollins "Pissing in a gene pool" is on the shelf...Jennas books should be too.
Actually.....she has done tons of movies b/g and g/g. She just won two AVN awards last night ! She is still very involved in porn, however has become quite the celebrity.
True true, there are lots of boobie piccys, but other pics are blurred or "X"ed out.
most 14 year olds have more porn than thary know what to do with anyway. thaere was a 15 year old kid on a kung-fu movie appreciation site ime a member of with the username "RoccoSiffredi".

Nah, I just used what you said as a springboard to mention that fact. I got that you were messing.

I agree 100%. Some things just shouldn't be too easy for kids to access
Personally, I don't see who would want to check this book out from a PUBLIC library.
It kind of gives me the willies thinking about what other patrons have done with it...
It falls under the same category of "I won't buy underwear at the Goodwill and I will not buy used porno mags, no matter how "collectable" they may seem."
Not that the book is porno, per se, but hopefully you get my meaning.
As much as I'm all pro free speech and damn the man and all that, I don't really see a problem here either. I'm sure eventually, once the excitement wears down this will end up on the shelf, but then I remember when I was a kid and we found some book on sex and procreation and female anatomy in the library and read it like it was made of pure gold and cocaine.
