An escaped prisoner in Charlotte North Carolina was able to survive on the run since June by living in a vacant Circuit City. Jeffery Manchester was able to reroute water from the Toys R Us next door and survived on stolen baby food in a 4 by 10 closet.

"I've never seen anybody so determined," said Officer Fred Allen, who spotted the hideaway Sunday. "He wasn't going to make a stupid mistake. We had to find him."

Manchester was four years into a 45-year robbery sentence when he disappeared from the Brown Creek Correctional Institution on June 15. Authorities say he escaped by clinging to the undercarriage of a truck.

Manchester, 33, now is accused of robbing the Toys R Us Dec. 26, then setting fire to a dentist's office. Police think he had dental work done while he was on the lam and set the fire to hide his records.

He also had dental work done while he was out.

I would imagine that living in a Circuit City closet, eating baby food and watching the same movie would be like being in prison—except for the prison sex.

That's what I was thinking. I mean, I like baby food and all, but I think I'd rather eat prison food after a while. And Spiderman 2 is good, but you can really only watch a movie so many times.

This guy was known as the 'rooftop robber' and is ex special forces. My buddy's dad was part of the team that tracked him down. The guy is HARD CORE and some of the robberies he pulled off in Sacramento ( my hometown ) were crazy. He was methodical and planned everything. Took them years to finally catch him. My friend's dad went ape shit when he heard the guy escaped.
