I strongly believe that everybody has a "personal vice level" - i.e. if you give up one thing you automatically going to start something else of approx. equal badness and there's nothing you can do about it.
Like, I gave up smoking about 2 years ago and since then I been doing more amphetamines and coke than in the 30+ years before
Or, when I was younger I once gave up drinking for maybe 6 or 8 months. I never had as many one night stands and other kinds of sexual crazyness as in that time period.

agreed. my evil ex boy chewed orbit gum to battle his gross chewing tobbacco habit. i am sad that i like orbit now, every chew reminds me of him. buts its soo tasty i cant stop.
