it does make you wonder though if they then charged her with prostitution. it's quite sad but that's how it works sometime. i hope they let her off.

At least a hooker with a conscience. Did this guy really think that a someone would be cool with seeing this horrid video? Good for her.

your right. but prosecuters havta be paid. and i wouldnt think a state would want to waste the money. if it went to trial no jury would convict this nice lady after how she got this jagoff off the street. *crosses fingers*

edit to say if i was this lady's p.d. i would push it to trial.

Pity, you can't even trust hookers to keep their traps shut these days.

Someone should notify Brett Harte. He could write it up as "The Outcasts of Infant-poker Flat". whatever

I think we're supposed to be impressed that she risked arrest herself to turn him in. Maybe that reporter has never heard of plea bargaining.

Or maybe it's still kind of nice to hear that someone put their neck on the line to stop something genuinely bad from happening. I don't care if she plea-bargained her ass off, first off prostitution shouldn't be illegal, there really isn't much reason for the ban (public health problems are a problem of the distant past) and second even if she did get off her trade is pretty much ruined by this. She made at least a minor sacrifice to do the right thing, and risked a lot. That's noteworthy regardless of her profession.

So, I'm guessing I was the only one that was thinking the hooker got a reward of child porn for turning in a john, after reading the headline.

These "paedophiles are inherently evil" quips so bore me. As if torture or all the current means have changed anything. I don't condone it but it needs to be understood not condemned. Not tolerated, but it can't be fixed if it isn't dealt with compassion nothing changes.
One doesn't know but I'd say in most cases the paedohilia data found is probably not acted out on. Repression is a killer.
Please don't swing condemnations this way it just makes it known you don't think deeply. Perfection is in all things, so what is perfect about this?

I think she did an excellent thing, but I don't really give a shit about who is/what she does...she's just a good person!

So this asshole was thinking, "You know who'd really love seeing this stuff? Hookers! I'm gonna get me one and show her my baby rape videos!"

You'd have to try long and hard to think less of hookers than this guy apparently does.

God, seriously.
I think about the higher percentage of streetwalkers who've been sexually abused as children, and get even more pissed off at a guy who'd think that they'd want to see that shit.

Am I supposed to be suprised that prostitues are people and actually have morals? Wait, wait.

No, I think we're supposed to be shocked. Otherwise this wouldn't be news.

I think it's more that she was performing an illegal activity and reported another. It would have been newsworthy if she had been a drug dealer instead, too.

As Thistle pointed out, there's this fun thing called 'plea bargaining'. This happens everyday and there is definitely not a news report everytime it happens. It's a standard part of the 'justice system' and I don't think it would have been covered in the same tone if it were a drug dealer who happened to turn him in.

The coverage I've seen on this really plays on the sex-work/sex-offense connection. Which kinda bothers me. Even our SG news editor wrote "A morally upstanding Florida prostitute". I don't think her actions were morally upstanding, I think they were standard. Again, the issue of her employment to me is what makes the Headline, otherwise it would be the regular "Florida Sicko Busted with Kiddie Porn" and the tip off to the cops wouldn't be relevant.

(not wanting to be a pedantic bitch, but the article said nothing about him actually making porn with a 2 yeasr old, just being in posession of it. not that that's any more acceptable)

and yeah that guy must have a pretty fucked up view of hookers
