A Bulgarian man stunned doctors for having a blood alcohol level of 0.914-- almost 12 times the legal limit.

The 67-year-old man, whose name was not released, was hospitalized Dec. 20, when a car knocked him down on a street in the southern Bulgarian city of Plovdiv.
[...]
Laboratory analysis of five subsequent blood samples taken the same day confirmed that the man had had a 0.914 blood alcohol content, [head of Plodiv police Col. Angel] Rangelov said. An 0.55 blood-alcohol level is usually considered as life-threatening.

Amazingly, the guy was able to carry on a conversation with police and doctors. He was treated for head injuries suffered in the accident, and was reported as being in "stable condition."

I hope he was wearing one of those fuzzy-dot-font shirts that were popular in dorms in 1999 with "hilarious" alcohol-related malapropisms and such.

I expect to evolve enough so I can live with blood mixed with alcohol in my veins. It's a goal of mine to become better then that old man.

the liquid coursing through his veins was over 90 percent alcahol. Thats impossible, if it didn't poison him that surely his brain had to be suffering from oxygen depletion.

And he left with a cupon for $10.00 off his next liver transplant! That's ten dollars you can spend at the supermarket on a few jugs of cooking wine!

NO that would be a BAC of 90.00, not 0.9.. at 0.9 he is just shy of 1%. Still that is amazing since that is 2x what the normal person would be comatose alcohol poisoning.

That's not a good thing, folks. It's like cheering on someone for surviving, like, a massive dose of aresnic or something.... which most of you would probably do. So carry on.

If (when) I get poisoned and when (if) I survive, I expect a round of fucking applause when they wheel me out of hospital. And for someone to buy me a drink.

Probably get poisoned again, though.
