The second time around, they are called shingles.

The happily dormant herpes virus reawakens from sleeping in your spine to wreak havoc upon the middle of your back, your stomach, your work, and social life.

Edited to say: if anybody is more familiar with medical terminology or this illness please feel free to correct me.

to get chicken pox you have to have been around someone who's had them recently is has them at the moment. Can you think of anyone?

I caught the chicken pox 3 times as a child. My mother and aunt also both had it 3 or 4 times as kids.

You have my sympathy. frown

i knew a kid that got chicken herpes a couple times when we were little. i know you have to be careful with them as an adult though...they can be deadly!

I hope you never do. It is much, much worse to get them for the first time as an adult. Adults are much more likely to die from it than kids. Some doctors actually recommend that adults who have never had it get the vaccine (which is something they didn't have when I was young dammit!) if you are continually exposed to lots of different people, whether it be work or school.
