it's probably some genetic throwback where women want to destroy other women who they perceive as competition for obtaining a strong, virile man to provide them with strong, healthy children.

therefore, their actions can be seen as a COMPLIMENT since they think they're "all that", and they see Linz as competition, so, subconciously, they think she's "all that" too, despite what say/think conciously.

I think people have this misconception that SGs are just a bunch of pretty girls.

We're not.

Not only are we some of the most great looking, smart, confident, creative, interesting and attitude-filled girls on the planet, we're also that when we're stripped down to nothing in front of a camera.

It's harder than it looks, and I'd challenge any of those girls to do the same - I don't think they'd have the chops if they're that insecure WITH their clothes on while they're NOT on stage.

3. People in GENERAL can be catty and stupid.
4. Speaking of catty, it IS pretty damn rude to put comments on how a girl on this site is "not that attractive" anywhere, even if it's behind a spoiler. How would you feel if people were debating in a thread about whether or not you were hot? Yet again I ask: wasn't anybody raised to know about tact, where you keep your mouth shut every once in a while in order to be a decent person?
5. I still find it really odd that there are now huge crowds of people who know what SG is. When I started modeling here I had to explain what it was to most people I met, even if they were "alternative" types. Now I can just say "I'm a SuicideGirl" and tons of people will know what I mean right away.

He's defending his friend, who people started insulting (based on looks) in this thread. Ironic considering that the thread is about how lame it is for people to be catty and insulting to others based on looks! (or anything else for that matter)

As far as cattiness goes, both men and women do it. There are a lot of interesting books on why younger women do this, and a lot of it is based on sexism and how much women are made to feel insure about their looks.

I find a woman's compliment on my appearance to be more meaningful than a man's because in my experience women are more likely to notice the little niceties that go into making a great hair cut or a stunning outfit. I suppose it's something like the difference between a compliment on work you've done from a layman v a compliment from a professional in your field.

Sorry if my comment offended, everyone has their own "whats hot and not" image in their head.

At first I read the opening post and only saw "She's a Suicide Girl?? Nuh-uh. I am WAY hotter than her yada yada yada..." missed the whole, thats what you assumed they were thinking.

Maybe they were jealous.
Maybe the had arthritis of the wrist and couldnt clap.
Maybe they thought she sucked at her music.
Maybe their parents died and they wanted to see a SG to cheer up but were still too sad to clap.

1 in 5 people werent clapping? So what, no one can impress everyone.
