Good - looks like things are ok.

Good move, calling to cops.

When you hear 'em breaking things, definitely call the cops. Breaking glass = cops.

When the cops arrive, stay in your apartment. Going to their place the first time was a bad move: now, they're going to think you called the cops, even if you hadn't, because you're the only person they've seen who was annoyed by the ruckus. So, stay out of sight, and maybe they'll forget you were at their door.

Whatever you do, do not get involved in any actual confrontations you might see. Call 911 or pull the fire alarm or whatever, but do not get involved in the fight!

wow, you are always so critical of me. I was scared as hell and didn't know what to do. I don't friggin care if they know it was me. I am glad that they know that :

a: I am not putting up with their crap.

b: If I hear fighting again, they can be sure I'd call again.

c: she's/ he's not alone.

Sorry. I didn't mean to come across as critical. I was shooting for panicked. I'd hate for you to unintentionally get involved in a domestic dispute. Ask any cop: they're b-a-d bad. frown

Again, sorry if I came across as critical.

I do understand why you'd feel better about knocking on the door just in case the police weren't needed, but if they were needed you might wind up getting yourself hurt. That's why people were telling you not to go over.

Good job looking out for others. smile

Yeah, but I feel a bit less uneasy if they do it with, you know, a comfortable running start...just in case... frown

I think you did the right thing in calling the cops. Even if your neighbours' argument didn't lead to domestic violence this time, it might do on a future occasion and if it does the fact that the police have already been called out to your neighbours' household may help the police to bring a prosecution.
