Does anyone else find themselves constanly buying products simply because they are new and you want to try them?

I swear I can't go into a store and not spot these things no matter what it is. From shampoo to toothpaste to a new candy bar.

Have you found any awesome products this way? Any terrible products this way? Any products that you haven't seen since, but you loved?

I just found a "NEW" candy bar called Take 5, it's by Hershey it's pretzels, caramel, peanuts, peanut butter and milk chocolate! It's the best thing ever! love

I too, want to try all the new stuff, and wind up so disapointed when I love something new that doesn't last long (often because I appear to be the only one who likes it)
snapple pie. It came out last holiday season, apple pie flavoured snapple drink. I loved it so much and it disappeared from stores so quickly that I saved a bottle and drank it last week (after a year. and it was just as good as I remember.) I was hoping it would return this holiday season, but no such luck.
I often think that I should get a job testing products, because if I really love it than it is the kiss of death for a new product. I have to change my favorite ice cream flavor every couple of months it seems because as soon as I decide it's my favorite, it's discontinued.

Somehow I am convinced that if you were granted three wishes, you would ask for the exact same things.

I do!!!! I hate to say that I am easily swayed by clever marketing. Just seeing the words "New and Improved" turns me into a five year old at a toy store screaming "I want, I want, I want"

Yes, I have found several really cool things this way.
-The Mr. CLean Magic Eraser thingy
-Brilliant Brunette Shampoo and Conditioner
-Swifter Duster (Yes, I know this has been out for wuite some time. But I can't stop dusting with it. It's fun!!!)

This probably explains why I am always broke.

Those Mr. Clean things really work. I brought those to my child care center one day and I was cleaning like a mad woman. No more crayon on the walls. smile

Yes. I'm usually a sucker for any new shampoo or conditioner that comes out and is advertised to death. It's always a lie. I wish any new $3 crap would work the way it promises so I wouldn't have to keep going broke on $20/bottle Bumble+Bumble. frown

with supermarket products and stuff, i always go for the tried and tested. i get really grumpy when they discontinue a shower gel i liked or something, i think it's just because i'm picky and it takes me ages to find one i like.

but technology, now that's a different story. i must have new things. which is why i'm broke and have lots of things that require charging cradles. i nearly bought a mini dv camcorder in the january sales. i can't think what i'd need it for, but it's a new toy! i'm really trying to resist buying a nintendo ds and/or a psp on import. i bought the GBASP on launch day over here, and got about 8 games before i realised i never really played it. my brother ended up being very happy with it. surreal

i love impulse buying and checking out anything new and improved. candy gets the most common nod. actually so do bikes, for some reason i have a habit of impulse buying bikes at the trift store. I also bought a new surfboard last year just because it came with a new swirly deck pattern. i have no willpower.

I have to buy something if it's cheap. Even though I might never use it. It's just one of those things.
That's why my boyfriend won't let me go into Walmart.

I just saw a commercial for one that has a swiffer-type thing on it instead of a vacuum and it's only $10. I wish I'd written down the number.
