I think Rammstein are pretty fun, myself though. Neither innovative nor genious, but... DAMMIT, do they know how to rock.

I've loved Rammstein ever since I first heard them just before Sehnsucht was released. In some aspects, Reise, Reise may not be as good as the albums before, but still it is one hell of a good album. When Rosenrot came out, I loved it, Benzin is a mandatory driving song for me now. I don't care what anyone says, these guys are amazing, and they keep getting better and better. I only hope that sometime soon, I'll be able to see them live.

Personally I think Rammstein sucks.

The way they use this certain kind of "teutonic" aesthetic, the rolling r's, the imagery. I'm not saying they're nazis, I don't believe they are, but they are deliberately vague about it, which is appealing to a certain crowd. Yeah, it might be "ironic" or "playing with stereotypes", still makes me puke.

I've always viewed Rammstein's music as the exact opposite to anything encouraging fascism, it seems to me like their aesthetic is used as a critique and satire of overbearing militaristic regimes. They formed when they were trying to escape from East Germany; their music maybe reflects those influences, and is meant to mock the Stasi and communism?
I met them a while ago when they came to London, they're well nice guys. They're not vague about whether they have any Nazi-sympathies; they're very clear they have none, and as a libertarian and Semitic woman, I wouldn't like them if they did.
Also, Richard Bernstein is incredibly sexy. And they have some totally badass videos.

My favorite is still the one for "Du Riechst So Gut '98" (the original "Du Riechst So Gut" video is recommended viewing for ladies with a crush on one or more of the band members, but not much of anyone else.). Although "Rosenrot" comes close.
