Has anyone else seen this pop up? I'm using Firefox and I was scrolling through a thread with the scroll wheel on my mouse... and all the sudden this thing just showed up. It's kind of neat, the further you move your mouse away from it the faster it scrolls up or down the page. My question is, how did I do it? And is it part of Firefox or what? I can't figure out how to get it back or where it came from.

Yeah, if you press down on the scroll wheel as if it were the middle button, that should pop up.

I got that in Windows 95 when I used the right driver for a three button mouse. We didn't have scroll wheels in my day. You kids! Don't know you're born!

Windows 95? Is that what they used in the Flintstones? That was the woodpecker in the stone box, right? tongue

I thought everyone had that. You just push the scroll on your mouse, right?

that's usually just the default action of pushing down the scroll button (at least on a logitech scroll mouse, not sure of the MS mice).

you can usually assign different shortcuts to it. for example, i've assigned the BACK button for browsing to it, so i don't have to constantly hit the actual back button in my browser or the shortcut on my keyboard. saves a lot of time.

depending on your OS (i'm using Win2K), to configure it, if there's a little mouse icon near your system tray (where the clock is), double click it. if not, you can probably access it through START > SETTINGS > CONTROL PANEL > MOUSE and follow the wizard.

That's the Royal Seal of Prince Zarblat of Mars, sometimes called "The Eye of Zarblat."

He uses it to watch computer users of Earth through their own monitors.

I hope you have a heavy lead apron like the type they put on you at the dentist's, because that's the only way you can escape his watch.

But notice that you can't use the scroll wheel (when depressed) directly over the posts in the boards, but only on the margins ... I don't know why ...

Wait ... now it's working, but not all the time ... nevermind, my mouse id probably just fucked up.

whatever

That's what comedians say when they're done with their act. That joke, obviously, was bronze.

Since we've hijacked this thread already, has anyone noticed how you can tack the word "ass" on to just about any other word to make an awesome & unique insult?

Ass-castle, for instance.
