Any trekkies/trekkers out there who are hiding?
Tell me your favorite series and why.
Tell me your all time favorite character.
Tell me who you most want to slam (and by slam, I mean BONE).
Tell me who you can't stand.
Tell me if you EVER saw cheif engineer Argyle in the first few seasons of TNG.
Why didn't they just make Singh cheif engineer???

Tell me if a Star Trek set will make you hot.

For the haters: WHY? IT'S SO GOOD!

It's a generic borg. I wouldn't have Picard fighting HIMSELF, now would I?

That would just be weird.

(this thread is without honor)

i always grooved on the drumhead. they say "tempest in a teapot" during it.

Favorite series is Next Generation. My favorite character on the series is Warf, but I'd probably fantasize about Ensign Toreeena a whole lot more than he.

You in Star Trek garb = HOT

i never really got into any of the series... but i loved the movies as a kid. still do i own most of them on DVD. some of the TNG episodes are good i like them but i never got into it. Star Trek I, II, & III are all top 20 favorites of mine though. any geeks favorite has to be II.... as far as the movies go anyways. star trek is still a little too soft. i was really heart broken when william gibsons first movie was as bad as it was. its going to be a long time until some real sci fi gets put to the screen... Donnie Darko was the last thing i can recall. Though i heard a rumor that David Lynch is going to run John Letham's "Amnesia Moon" thru the pases. should be very interesting and if you havent read any Jonathon Letham then you should.... sorry to stray from the topic.

Well, Lt.Cmdr Toreena, you certainly do look lovely smile
I'd say my favorite series is Deeps Space Nine.
When it first came out, I thought, how can they do anything on a space station? Oh how they proved me wrong smile
Accordingly, my favorite Captain is Sisko. He's as diplomatic as Picard (well, nearly...) and he can hold his own in a fist-fight like Kirk. Janeway is great, a really good rolemodel for girls, who shows that just because she's in charge and has to make tough decisions, she doesn't have to compromise her feminity or compassion.
Who would I most like to give a whooping too...The most obvious candidate is of course, Wesley 'watch me save the ship again' Crusher. He used to really get on my nerves, and I was quit pleased to hear that Will Weaton got edited out of Nemesis... Another less likely candidate for a good slapping is... Seven of Nine...
Why? Because she fell into Wesley's 'save the day' place. When the Doctor (My overall fave character) first restored her, he said he removed 82% of the Borg hardware from her body, leaving presumeably her occular implant, hand shield and a few internal implants. However, she always just so happens to have the exact piece of technology that they need to save the day, and to me, that's pretty lame. Likewise, when her cortical implant failed and her systems began to break down, her skin was peeling away to reveal machinery beneath as if she were an android like Data, not a person that had technology implanted into her body. That said, I think Jeri Ryan is a great actress and played the part tremendously, I think it's just a shame that she was purely introduced to boost ratings, and her looks exploited with the catsuits, again, purely for ratings.
I think the worst series has got to be Enterprise, especially seeing as the Enterprise is just a revamped version of the Akira-Class starships first seen in First Contact, then DS-9, and also because T'Pol is essentially a replacement Seven of Nine, even down to the style of dialogue and choice of wardrobe. However, I do like how the M in Class M actually now stands for something, and the lesbian gag Hoshi made to T'Pol in Broken Bow was also quite amusing...

T'Pol- "Perhaps you would like to go to your quarters and lie down..."
Hoshi- "Ponfarr maran?"

Now, despite my location, I don't speak fluent Vulcan, but isn't ponfarr something to do with the mating urge...?eeek wink

Damn I wrote alot for a last minute post smile
Spike
PS
One of my earliest memories is watching The Planet Killer and being scared out of my wits that Kirk was going to die.
PPS
Missread the part about slamming... Only one real candidate there for me, Ezri Dax smile

I will probably get slammed for this...but I mostly like Deep Space Nine. I enjoyed the fact I knew where they were at 95% of the time when the show started and that it focused more on interpersonal interaction of the crew opposed to always contacting alien races and bolding going where no man has gone before.... I'm boring I know.

I do like TNG as well and have watched most of the original series....but DS9 is my favorite.

I don't really have a favorite charecter I guess... I like Quark for the fact he's such a greedy bastard and Data for the fact his viewpoints on some things are down right hilarious at times....like when he first dabbles with attempting humor and joke telling in the one episode.

Oh, and one last thing... for Toreena... set phasers on stunning my dear. love RAWR!

Toreena, I am SOOOOOOO there! smile

I hate Dr.Crusher, but I REALLY HATE Dr.Pulaski. Everytime I see her I cringe then curse the gods of TNN.

Also, add Q to my bone list. The possibilities are infinite.

I referenced my StarTrek Encyclopedia (yes I am that big a dork) and this is what it says about Argyle:

Argyle, Lt.Commander - A chief engineer of the Enterprise-D in 2364. Argyle worked with the Traveler and MrKosinski during warp drive upgrade tests. ("Where No One Has Gone Before" {TNG}). Argyle also supervised the assembly and activation of Data's brother Lore, in the Enterprise-D sickbay ("Datalore" {TNG}).

I can't quite remember what he looked like tho.

yes. i admit it. i dig star trek. TNG, TOS, DS9, Voyager, Enterprise...I'm a whore, I know.

Tell me your favorite series and why.

OH GOD SO HARD TO DECIDE....uh, probably TNG - most well-rounded, but I liked some of the grittier elements in late season DS9 (Dominion War) and Voyager. TOS was cheesy and fun (mmm green-skinned orion slave girls) and the core characters had such great chemistry...

Tell me your all time favorite character.

Jean-Luc Picard and Spock. I cannot choose between them. No way.

Tell me who you most want to slam (and by slam, I mean BONE).

7 of 9.

honorable mentions: jadzia dax, kes, ezri dax.

Tell me who you can't stand.

Quark, Deanna Troi.

Tell me if you EVER saw cheif engineer Argyle in the first few seasons of TNG.
Why didn't they just make Singh cheif engineer???

no. that's a damn good question.

Probably the Next Generation. It was smarter than the rest. But DS9 is a close second.. the Dominion War was awesome.

Favorite Character? Data. He was funny and wise and smart and cool. And, like all of the best ST characters, he was a magnifying glass pointed at the questions of the nature of humanity. (Spock, the Doctor, Q, + Chief O'Brien my runners-up.)

I'd hit Seven, that's a given. Either of the Dax's. But Hoshi.. mmmm... Hoshi.

I can do without Councillor Troi, Major (Constable) Kira (the character wasn't bad, but the actress couldn't act herself out of a paper bag), Harry Kim, Captain Archer (the most boring, 1 dimensional char from any Star Trek, ever)

Argyle? He was the bearded fat guy? Maybe he was in the premiere, and the one where the Traveller came and showed Wesley how to bend time and space to go faster and farther than any federation craft.

Sihgn? Do you mean Data's creator? Mostly because they thought he was dead when they started.

Yes. Phasers set for sexed-up.

Wesley Crusher was my secret fantasy. Him and Doogie Howser MD. love Wesley always seemed so delicate, like he needed someone to protect him. I would totally have volunteered. Captain Kirk is my mother's longtime crush. I used to tease her about it when I was little, and she would get REALLY mad.
