nascar comes from the mopar tradition of racing. wich is to say tuning for horsepower so you can outrun the cops to get the bathtub gin your smuggling past them. thats awesome!. if nascar was still abot outrunning cops id watch all the time! but as-is its pretty lame. rally, formula 1, and lamans racing is much more exiting, (they dont just make left turns for 3 hours).

from what i've seen of figure-8 racing or whatever it's called (with the intersection in the middle so you have a good chance of smashing straight into someone every lap) is pretty cool. if you're going to gamble with your life, go for the gold!!!! this is why i like to drive 140mph in reverse down the highway. drunk.

I like Dane Cook's idea for NASCAR racing - have half the cars going one way around the track, and the other cars going the other way. Now that I'd watch.

Not to Jack the thread or anything, but could the long time F1 fans explain to me why Schumacher should not deserve to be such a dominant force in F1 racing history? Not too many can top him (or Ferrari) these days - am I wrong?
