Well, their spin is my spin. Because regardless, it is an amazing fucking game.

It's 24/7 massive battles. Infantry, tanks, air, and naval simulation. Completley accurate simulations mind you. No silly Hit-Point system like BF1942. It's an actual armor penetration system, you must hit it where the certain caliber shell can penetrate. Infantry is amazing, real tactics are REQUIRED to win.

To "gain ground" you must capture certain towns, all is 100% accurate to 1940/41 France and parts of Britain and the netherlands. Most towns have 4-7 capture points, and one army base. To capture the army base (which allows you to spawn armor and non-infantry equipment), you must capture and hold a capture point (also know as choke points). Larger towns sometimes have two, up to three army bases (such as Brussles or Cambrai)

There is NO nazi references in this game what so ever. The germans are just GERMANS, an iron cross is used to replace the swastika. Any nazi "role playing" of any sort will result in you being banned from the game. They did this to be able to market in Europe and germany. It's entirely seamless. In order to walk across the map (with no loading what so ever), it would take you around 3 weeks to walk from corner to corner. Three REAL weeks.

In order to be able to hold a town without running out of guns, tanks, etc.. It must be linked to at least two surrounding towns. If your supply is cut, its only a matter of time before you run out and the enemy takes over your town.

No crosshairs are used. It's all on "iron sights", meaning you look down the barrel of the gun and use the sights of the gun as you would in real life.

Now, during an attack or defense. If the high command sees the situation in a certain way. They can issue commands such as Fall Back, Hold at all costs, Defend, etc... Fall Back takes all the resources from the town you are defending and places them in the spawn pool for the town immediately back from the front line, giving you the advantage when the enemy rolls through again (For the allies, this is handy. The Germans are using blitzkrieg tactics). Hold at all costs, I am not entirely certain but I believe it takes a portion of the resources from surrounding towns placing it in the pool of the town you are defending.

Well, I believe thats enough for now. If you have any other questions about the game feel free to ask. I have been playing since its release (June 6th, 2001). This is all my own wording, and not that of CRS (Cornered Rat Software)

I'll post some screens here in my next post.

Some of these screenshots are way, way out of date. The game buildings have been updated to an amazing degree since release. The engine has been updated, words cant describe how much fun this game has given me.

I played for free when they had the "Try free for 30 days" thing. It was pretty cool, but I thought the graphics sucked. The whole concept is awsome thought. If I had to play an MMOG, it would be WWII Online.

In my opinion, better than BF1942. It's more realistic, not as actiony. It's NOT a shooter, even though it is in the first person shooter category.

There really is no limit to how many people can be on one server. We only have one server, and every subscriber plays on it and we havn't had a problem. There is the "64 limit" which limits your person to view 64 units on screen at one time to avoid lag at massive battles. But it wont normally be any threat to you.
