Well, I'm glad he could lower himself to make such cinematic ass like ''Chasing Amy'' and ''Jay and Silent Bob" just so he could make whatever he wanted.

Sadly, that was Jersey Girl.

Good job, Kevin Smith. Your serious, sincere movies are worse than your masturbatory, self indulgent ones.

Though in months old news.....Jay and Silent Bob are appearing in 3 episodes of some Canadian show, and Clerks 2 starts filming next month, OH and the animated Clerks movie is out next year, and Smith has said he wants to do "ONE MORE" Jay and Bob centered adventure.

So....in even older news....Kevin Smith can only rely on those two cashcows for attention, so it's not a suprise that they're back. His stuff is funny, but he's just lame.

sorry lostarchitect, but NiMiiPuu actually does know what he's talking about. Well, sort of. Kevin Smith is an intelligent man. I remember watching him on a talk show called Politically Incorrect and he said several thought inspiring comments. It was a little hard to take him seriously, because all the guests were in suits and the like, but he was in knee-high jeans and a sweatshirt, and constantly had his hands in the pockets of the sweatshirt. He does make movies that the masses like. The movies have grossed several million each and have grossed more than they cost (in Hollywood, a movie that makes $1.00 more than it cost is considered a successful movie. In other words Alexander was a total flop in comparison).

Don't joke, dude - Showtime is going to be airing a musical version of the movie Reefer Madness. If they'll make a musical out of that, I don't think Star Wars is too much of a stretch.

I saw the stage show in Cleveland. It was pretty good.

Kevin actually fights that point pretty often at the View Askew boards. In the 70s and 80s, yea-a big or moderate budget flick that didnt exceed it's production cost in profit was a flop, but in the day of DVD and quick to-home-video options, it's tough for a mid to high budget movie not to at least break even....and that's not even counting foreign gross. So, for example, while Jersey Girl domestically may not have exceeded it's production cost, add in overseas and then DVD and video....profit city.

i second whoever said TALES OF THE JEDI. it doesn't really have to adapt those characters necessarily, it could be like the knights of the old republic video games, character/situation wise.

just no super-weapons, please.

i wouldn't mind an X-WING series either, i enjoyed those books extremely back in high school.

they have a huge timeline to work with, plenty of alien species and planets and situations and no matter how bad it is, i will still check it out.

if they're talking about having Luke around, my guess is that they're going for a post thrawn trilogy/dark empire series jedi academy thing. which wouldn't be bad either, considering that there's some cool characters to be found there, zekk, tenel ka, lowbacca (yeah yeah), kam solusar, kyp durron, corran horn, the solo kids (depends on who writes them, either they're cool or they're flat out goody goody dorks), etc.

this reminds me i haven't read a star wars book in years. i never finished or kept up to date with the new jedi order series.

I think what Kevin Smith has really done to benefit society is to prove what self-important jackasses all film buffs are!

You guys that say Kevin Smith has no talent should go out and watch Chasing Amy. If you do not think he has talent then you must not be able to understand the social commentary that this movie is. I would put it along the same line as American History X as a social comment.

Besides that get the special version of Dogma and watch the Fat Albert deleted scene. It is about the most hilarious thing I have ever seen.
