converse all-stars

so whats the deal with cons? i had a pair a while ago and I'm thinking of digging them up and wearing them around again.... as i recall, they weren't very comfortable..... at the last concert i was at i thought it'd count how many pairs of cons i saw all the kids wearing there - I lost count.

cons.... go? no go?

I think they're comfortable. I like flat bottom shoes. I bought a pair ages ago for 10 bucks at a Gap outlet, but now they go for 50 bucks. Fuck that. They're just cons.

I don't like shoes that don't have a wide toebox.

Of course, there are some knockoffs that are made in the UK i believe, so I may buy them again.

I fuckin love converse. I don't care if it's lame or not.

If I'm running around town.. I'll wear the cons.

If I'm working I have to wear my Vans.. the cons simply don't provide as much support.

This thread made me realize I'm a complete shoe whore.

yeah vans take two months before turning into house slippers whereas converse only take about two steps.

Nothing beats a good pair of Chuck T's they're starting to get easier to find now that Jouney's bought them out aboot 5 years ago after Converse wnet Bankrupt.....never wore them for show....just comfort......(interesting tidbit of trivia: to this day there are no shoes that equal the ankle support of a pair of high-top Chuck taylors well fitted and fully laced)

I bought a pink pair three years ago for $8 at some shoe outlet because the color was discontinued. Apparently, no one wants flourescent pink cons....

....they aren't so flourescent anymore.

I thought they were retro hip when I was 10.

I just realised that I might not own any shoes that aren't boots...

I like All-Stars 'cos they have cool lines and you can still feel the ground through them.

They used to be cheap and well-made.
Well, sort of well-made.
They were higher quality than they are now, anyway.
And less than half the price.


On a side note, I had a pair when I was really little (kindergarten?) that were hot pink with orange dinosaurs on them. If anyone knows where I could find these in an adult 10.5, I will do damn near anything to get my hands on them.

I had a pair of red converse hightops when I was in kindergarten. Wore them with everything, even church dresses. *must find pictures* I have a few pairs now, but they're getting to be way too damn expensive.

I just wear cheap shoes from Payless or Wal-Mart or something. I don't like spending more than 20$ on my own shoes. If it stays on, covers my feet, and doesn't scare small children, it's alright. I'd like to get something from SAS shoes though because I love what they did for their factory employees last Christmas -- $1000 bonus for every year they'd worked there.

dude! wear them if you like them not by the kids -at - concert - count - test. that is totally lame herd mentality which i kind of am trying to get away from by being on this site. who cares?! wear them around your neck if you want. not trying to be mean or come down on you but really, like, don't let anyone make your decisions for you -- dress yourself dude.

(edit) Now that I wrote it. It's lame! They're slaves to fashion over there at Vice. It is kind of funny though if you've seen the movie.

I like my black chuck's but they make this weird popping noise when I walk in them. It drives me nuts. I can't explain it.
