Ashlee Simpson’s father, Joe, is also her manager. He was also a Baptist minister. So, when Ashlee was offered a role in the movie Wannabe, Joe grew uncomfortable because she was going to play a lesbian. Instead of leaving the project, he simply changed it himself.

I love it when a parent manages the professional life of their children. Not only do they have the drive of an Olympic athelete, but they also operate under the delusion that their child is the center of the universe.
