BTW my friend is still not smoking (tobacco) after a couple of years.

Zyban = Wellbutrin; however it is an anti-depressant. Fairly effective in taking the edge off for the first few weeks.

Ultimately, I successfully quit by going cold turkey.

Just quit. It's how I did it. It's horrible at first, but after awhile it isn't so horrible.
