For some strange reason I have the weirdest urge to watch lots of British humor (or humour if you will). So far I have lined up The Office first season, the Young Ones, Hitchhiker's Guide DVD, and Eddie Izzard. Perhaps I will throw in a little Monty Python later. I have a suspicion that this is just another ploy of mine to avoid doing all the things I should be doing. Damn you British funny people!!!!

I would also recommend Rowan Atkinson's "Blackadder" series (before he became Mr. Bean), and, if you're really hardcore, try some other TV series: Fawlty Towers, Black Books, Keeping Up Appearances and Are You Being Served?

"Terry and June" is probably not the best example of British Humour though.

Why has nobody mentioned this?

Mind, it is very 'northern' humour.

"Get back yer bastards" and all that.

Better yet is the
King of the Hill episode where Peggy is trying to explain British comedy to Bobby...She tells him something like it's intellectual and subtle, and he's like "You mean that guy in a dress?" smile

It all fades into the background when compared to Only Fools and Horses. By far the finest comedy from the BBC.
