A little advice to those of you who are that really good guy friend that they go to for advice and comfort when they're down. That one friend they can count on to always be there for them when once more, some jerk has broken their heart. The guy who's "too good of a friend" to ever date.......kick them out of your life......believe me, you're better off........Sorry to be bitter, but it's true

if you want them THAT bad, and there's no chance. . .why stick around (especially if you've already told them how you feel)??

Just hazarding a guess here, but don't guys hang around when dating's not an option because it's not an option and it means you can get on with just being friends?

Guy-girl relationships aren't all about sex y'know...?

Well, I guess if you don't value the friendship......
If you ask a friend out and she says no, she should still be your friend afterward. Unless the friendship was just a lie from the beginning and you were after more.

if one was to develop a crush on this freind a rejection COULD fuck the freindship up
makes it awkward and uncomfortable and brings jealousy into the picture

One of my best friends is a guy. He asked me out once and I said no because we were good friends and I didn't want to screw that up. He was upset for a few weeks but he decided to let it go. Now we laugh about it.
If we'd dated, we probably wouldn't be such good friends now. I'd be really hurt if he decided not to be my friend anymore because I wouldn't take our friendship farther.

Yeah.. totally. Girls shouldn't get the privilege of having guy friends unless they'll give in and get dicked.

whatever Yeah. Right. I tried to feel for the other whiney-guy thread.. but this is fucking ridiculous. Instead of having girl friends, why don't you just go out and find some whores who don't want to try to have anything interesting to say. That way, you won't have to listen to her stupid ass talk when she actually cares about something like.. oh.. getting shit on by asshole men who take her feelings for granted and keep her around for her pussy. Because that's apparently what you guys really mean.. "Shut up and spread 'em, bitch."

You should just say that right off the bat. Then you won't have to deal with girls who won't put out after you've done them the favor of listening to them and pretending to be a friend. It'll be a good filter.. you'll find and get to keep the girls you're targeting almost immediately.

ARRR!!! What IS IT with these guys? I'm glad not ALL of them are like this.. but it seems that many are. (Thanks to ones of you who aren't.)

Woah a glitch in the Matrix.

I have got loads of female friends and some of them i am really close to. Do i expect sex? Of course i don't. Girls aren't a piece of meat. The main reason why i love having friends that are girls is because they often have a completely different perspective on things. It's nice to have a variety in your friends.

I wouldn't say i am a "nice guy" either. I think i am fairly pleasant to talk to but thats about it. A fuck it i'm a lovely guy. Who wants a hug? biggrin

And you probably realize that if a girl thinks you're a quality friend but doesn't want to date you, she'll probably find a quality girl friend to hook you up with.
wink If people would just be cool about this stuff, the world would be so much easier to deal with.

yeah, that's exactly what one should do

I'm talking about if you've already gooten too close and it's too late (which is usually what happens to the kids who make these posts)
They should just break it off and spare themselves the pain.
