if you leave your computer on all the time, it might be your power supply fan. my server goes thru them like crazy. smacking the box around usually stops the noise, but doesn't fix the problem... one day, it'll just up and quit and it'll be time for a new power supply.

by "power supply fan" you mean the cooling fan, right? i was under the impression that that's the only fan there is.
