So now is the time of year where everyone is in the giving spirit.

Here's what my family has done,

This year, we are "Sponsoring" a child.
Her name is Marge and she is Six years old. This little girl is among the poorest of the poor in my area. So my family is helping her family out by playing Santa Claus, and buying her presents for Christmas. Her family is so poor they are asking that we even buy Marge a stocking. We have bought her some pajamas and an outfit, some games a book and a stuffed animal. I wish I could see her when she sees she actually has presents under the tree this year.

We are going to buy her more but we don't know whats cool among the six year olds..... we want to get her some of the popular 6 year old stuff....

So I'm asking you,
Does Anyone Know Whats Cool Among The Six Year Old GIRLS????
If you have a little sister around Marge's age, let me know what she likes, cause I would really like to make this a good Christmas for Marge.

P.S. If you can, sponsor a child this season. I dont care what you religion you are or arnt. I dont care your nationality. Play Santa to a little kid, make him/her happy. You'll feel good about yourself. If you dont want to do that, Sponsor a Soilder in Iraq or Afghanistan, send him/her care packages with magazines and batteries, candy and cds. And if you dont want to do that.... youre just an ass. So be Kind to someone this year smile

I think Lego is always cool, regardless of age. But that's just me...

Good for you for doing this. smile

Duplo is for under 4.. moot point.

Books wouldn't be a half bad thing.

Lego is always a good idea... as for what's good for 6 year old's? You're probably asking the wrong bunch.

Sounds kinda lame, but school supplies. It's awesome to be the kid with the best back pack or the coolest folders or something. Plus, that's the kind of thing that's really needed.

My brother and I are doing the "angel tree" again this year and got a 1 year old named Eric. It's been so fun to pick out clothes and toys for someone who actually needs our help.

Seriously, everyone. Please help. It's the holidays and money's tight for everyone, but it's a small sacrifice to help a child.

A lot of girls I know did...
Besides, they're great little toys and if used properly can provide hours and hours of creative entertainment.

Bratz dolls, Dora the explorer, the Leapfrog learning thing, books, art supplies, school supplies..

a few years ago my family's restaurant sponsored a family. the couple had 8 kids because they had taken on a bunch from a crack head that was in the family.

we ended up getting sooo much stuff for them because so many people donated. someone built them a computer.. a computer desk.. tons of clothes and toys for the kids.. stuff for the parents.. we even had a thousand dollars left that we bought them Meijer (like wal-mart with a grocery store) gift certificates.

My friend's kids are crazy for the Leapfrog thing. I am not sure on the price, but I hear it is really worth it.

anything related to drawing and art! My two (5 and 3) love to draw, and it doesn't matter if it's just crayolas (not Solaris mind you! wink ) and a pad of paper! Anything to ignite the muse so to speak!

And thanks Xixax, I'm gonna go apply for that group now! biggrin

PS. One thing to look out for on the Leapfrog: the books are wirebound and the pages easily rip, and the cartridge that accompanies the book can be easily lost! Hence why ours is on the bookshelf gathering dust! They're bloody expensive parts to have to keep replacing! Just a note of warning frown

Fuck that.

Poor kid.

Get her something fun. Screw educational. You never know when the next opportunity for her to actually get a nice quality fun thing might be.

Spongebob crap anyone?

Barbies, Cabbage Patch Kids, clothes for said dolls, games, stuffed animals, coloring books and crayons, glitter pens...

The "cool backpack" idea is great. Perhaps you could give her parents some money and tell them to let her pick one out?

Damn, I totally thought this was going to be a thread about some new kinky game to play with my GF this holliday season.

How about a little bike, or a big wheel kind of deal? She could start learning how to ride a bike at 6. And it's SUPER fun!

Otherwise LEGOS are always good. Or books. Lots and lots of books.

Maybe you could get her and her family tickets to a movie, like The Incredibles, or something else for the whole family.
