I was just thinking about creepy movies an teliviosion shows my parents put on to occupy me when I was little because they were rated PG so they must be ok.

What are some creepy kids movies from when you were little or that you've seen lately?
Or characters from children's movies that still make you wet your pants?

Here's some of mine:
(obviously)
Labyrinth
Return to Oz
The Witches
Dark Crystal
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow (disney)
Fantasia

(not so obvious)
The Snowman
Mr. Boogedy
Zoobilee Zoo - with characters that look like this, my fear is justified

its kinda funny how a lot of these shows/movies listed (actually i think all of them, hahaha) were my absolute favorite thigns in the world when i was a kid.... perhaps that explains why i like the movies/books/shows that i do now.... generally speaking the creepier/weirder the better biggrin

The Gmork from Neverending Story still scares the shit out of me.

I also must agree with Secret of Nimh, Watership Down, Last Unicorn, Dark Crystal, and Labyrinth to a lesser degree.

It's not exactly a children's movie, but my 5th grade teacher showed us some old black-and-white short adaptation of "The Cask of Amontillado" which gave me nightmares for weeks.

Me too. I was scared by that movie. And yet, when I watched it when it was on TV the other day, I found it quite sweet.

The Secret of Nihm was pretty weird.

All Dogs Go to Heaven had some bizarre parts that kind of freaked me out a little.

Actually, the Care Bears movie had this really scary unnatural looking kid in it that became evil. That freaked me out.

i always liked return to oz...but i will admit it was creepy as hell. also the part in willy wonka and the chocolate factory when they are going through the tunnel with all the scary stuff on the walls used to scare the hell outta me.

on another note...rockabye baby (the song) is kinda creepy when you think about it....its a song that you sing to your baby about a baby falling out of a tree. weird.

Oh, I loved that movie! But the song at the end did make it a little creepy. Briiiight eyes, burning like fiiiire...

You haven't been scared by a children's movie until you've seen my favorite movie from childhood (I've never actually found someone that's seen it):

I must have enjoyed being terrified as a child, because this movie is so creepy that I cried the last time I watched it. (And this was like a year ago.) You would have to watch it to understand. It's really inexplicable.

I always found Count Duckula and Today's Special to be depressing children's shows.
And a little creepy in ways.

You know, I thought that the media (particularly television) was trying to steer its way toward kinder, gentler children's programming...that is until I saw the Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy. Yikes!
