But recently, they've essentially mounted a shotgun on a packbot, which would make it probably the first lethal robot.

That's so sincere. I want one.. just so I could say I have a lethal robot. Then, when people try to come in my house at 2 AM like they do every damn day, I can tell them to say hello to my little friend. My little, lethal, armed, robot friend. That's siq. With a Q.

Come to think of it, maybe I should just duct-tape a shotgun to my old school Roomba. Then, instead of politely turning around when it bumps into a wall, it could just blow the shit out of it.

Or down the stairs.

The Roomba is here to protect you from the terrible secret of space.

You win.
Thanks for playing.

I am jealous. With my heavily-shedding, black-haired kitty, I should really be vaccuming every day, but I am too lazy for that.

IIRC, the list included:

1. a lawn mower

and so it begins...first they sell us harmless dirt sucking devices and before you know it you're buying robot's with spinning blades, it's the soldier class i tell you!

as for that roomba thing, that's awesome, i thought those vacuuming droids still costed thousands of dollars.
i'm really curious if on the long run it'll turn out to be a quality product or infomercial crap.
oh and how well does it do the wall edges and corners because that's where most of the dust collects in my room.

The tire tore on mine but they sent me a repair kit. Seems like a pretty solid company.

As for corners and wall edges, pretty much no, it just doesn't fit. The sucky proboscis is still on the drawing board smile

SWAT teams across our country already have shotguns mounted on robots. They are remote control and not completely autonomous, but still not pleasant to think about. The first autonomous robots with weapons will probably be used to better "maintain" our own society and it's laws as well.

Oh that's nothing -- how about a shit-covered fly-eating robot?

I was thisclose to buying a Roomba today @ Bed, Bath & Beyond today with a giftcard I got for Christmas. But I would have had to shell out about a $100 of my own money to cover it. I'll probably cave and go buy it tommorrow. love

I just thought of a good game. But, I doubt anyone but me would enjoy it.

Set up GI Joes all over the living room. On the floor. See how long it takes the Roomba to knock them down.

Shit. Now I have to get a Roomba.
