I am not-happy. My mother makes a bunch of money but doesn't pay for college for me. I've taken some time off school and come to find out, since I'm going back in Springtime...that since I'm not 24, even though I don't live at home and my mom doesn't pay for anything for me, including college, I still have to say she's helping pay.
wtf. This is SO uberstupid.

The same thing happened to me. The age is 23, not 24, but my 23rd birthday was nine days after the deadline. I was sooo ticked. tongue

I went back to school after I turned 24. It's been worth it. I don't mind being an "older" student.

That's inspiring.
I'll be 24 soon and can't wait to go back to school. "For real" this time.

To echo Sorcha: you may be happier going to college later.

College is much more valuable when you have a clue as to what you want to do with your life.

I am 23 already. I was told the age was 24 by the IU financial aid office.

Weird. If you look at the FAFSA site, it's 23-years old. Either IU has their own fucked-up rules, or you talked to an idiot.

For the July 2004-July 2005 school year, you had to be born before January 1, 1981. 23-years old as of the first of 2004. I just checked. For the July 2005-July 2006 school year, it will be 1982.

Tell that financial aid moron to learn her fucking job.
