Alls I know is it's freaking cold 100% of the time in my house. I'm not entirely sure what it's set on. I'll check. AHHHHH! It was set on 66! Who the fuck does that??? I just changed it to 76. Bitches. Teach them. *continues muttering due to severe frostbite* *thinks maybe muttering isn't a side affect of frostbite*

I have my computer switched to: ON. This keeps my room plenty warm enough.
My living room is cold though, and it's only going to get colder. It is only November after all.

I have stupid electric baseboard heaters. They're either on or off. Subtropical or arctic. I leave them off and cook in the oven more, which adequately heats my basement apartment up.

74-75. We're cold easily. But then someone always leaves a post-it on the thermostat telling us to turn it off because we have no money. I'm actually quite cold right now. It's 64ish in the house. frown

we actually don't control our heat - we have radiators that are turned on centrally in the building. we have three - all that we can control is if they are off or on. we usually only turn on one in the living room - b/c turning on the others turns our very wee apartment into a sauna..

that said - back when we controlled our heat, we kept it around 70ish. which was still cold for my wife (heheh..weenie), so she's usually bundled up in a blanket/sweater/whatever.

The thermostat wars are fairly calm at home. It's at work that the nuclear weapons come out. I want it to be about 65-68 degrees all the time. The girls, however, seem to be experimenting in atmospheric conditions not normally found outside of equatorial herpetology.

This happens everyday in my office. The two girls I share the space with aren't happy unless it's 80

my last apartment, we waited until it was 44 in the house before turning on the heat. not many people wanted to come over then.

70 is cranking at our place. Normally it is off and a constant 60 in the living room, which is downright toasty compared to the rest of the house. The rest of the house is at the outside temp, usually about 55.

I don't mind what it is during the day, as long as it isn't rampant hot (75+ F), but it has to be around 60 F at night or I can't get to sleep. Although my mom wants it to be at 70 F, and it just doesn't work out very well.

you'd be surprised how cold it gets inside at night in l.a. the thing is, none of the houses have insulation.

the problem i have is that my roommates turn the thermostat off when they go to bed, which is usually at least 3 hours before i even get home. which means it's cold when i finally hit the sack. no worries though. i have long johns.

my electric bill was sooo ridiculously high all summer due to my high ceiling loft, so i keep it at 79 all year, hoping against hope that the bastards at Reliant will soon tire of taking my money

*edited to say in Tx, you don't really need a heater*

My thermostat does not tell me what the temperature is. It merely indicates what I desire it to be, which was also confusing because it's in fahrenheit and I'm from Canada ( place "eh" joke here). 70 seems to be the consensus, but heating is included in my rent, so cost isn't a factor. My friends heating bill goes up to 300 bucks a month durring the winter. Sucks to be him...

This is too funny...there was an intense battle in the Thermostat war in my apartment last night.

I don't really cold, but I'd much rather be cold than hot. Especially since it is so goddman expensive to heat your house these days. Fuck if I'm paying a $160 gas/elec bill every month.

I usually leave the heat off until it dips below 65 in the apartment. Of course the roommate thinks I'm crazy and she always cranks it up to 75.

Good thing she always goes to sleep before me, so I can turn it off before I go to bed. tongue
