Friend killed breaking up bar fight...

I learned this weekend that my good friend "Tampa Dave" Anderson was stabbed in the heart while trying to break up a fight over PA equipment at a rock show. Dave was a total sweetheart - an incredibly funny, friendly and talented guy. I met him late in his life and was in a band with him for a few months before moving to CA and losing touch. I always regretted not keeping in touch with him - this is a consistent failure in my life.

Do me a favor and in honor of my friend please drop a note to those close to you letting them know how much they mean to you. Life can be inexplicable and fucked up sometimes - don't let yourself get caught crying over missed opportunities.

RIP, Dave - you ruled.

I am sorry as well. i have a few friends that I haven't really kept intouch with, that if they died it would fuck me up pretty bad. wish I knew how to find them now.

I'm very sorry to hear about all of your losses folks. Always remember them, love them, and never stop telling their stories and jokes, it keeps them alive.

I spent all morning friday alternately freaking and crying in a SF hospital waiting room as my friend was being operated on for cervical cancer. Be there for them when you can, and you'll have no regrets if you lose them.

Man you don't know how much I think about that shit, esp since I play in clubs. Packing up shit at 2 in the morning around drunk idiots. There was a fight at the club late this last saturday and I was just praying that none of us (especially my wife) would get caught in a crossfire later. I am very sorry that it came to fruition to your friend. Take care.

this is been happening way too much lately
its terrible.
last week a bouncer at a bar was beaten to death after he got off work just becuz he kicked 2 guys out.
and also last week, one of my drivers, tiny, got was slashed in the eyes by razerblades from a man that said he didn't like the way tiny talked to his wife. tiny is a sweet teddybear and he and his wife have a playful sarcastic banter that i suppose the slasher didn't understand.
im sorry for the people who lost their friends.
im sorry people don't seem to mind killing or maiming people lately.
it really is terrible.
