The only thing that I have enjoyed from those two came both from marvel.

DC allows their comics to be so much darker. When someone dies in DC, (and they aren't a main character) they stay dead (more often that Marvel at least). Also DC really let Frank Miller (who is the God of graphic novels) really have his way with Batman, which was a great thing.
But like other people said I grew up on Marvel, but DC is definately better for adults, though Dark Horse and other independents are even better.

i didn't say all comic books were lame, i said marvel and dc were. why? because they for the most part still cater to obsolete standards and thus are boring.
