Bill Rosemnn, a former marketing manager at Marvel and “Your Man @ Marvel,” left the comic company in 2003 and joined CrossGen to later become Senior Vice President-Publishing. Newsarama now reports that the former executive has accepted a position at rival DC.

At DC, Rosemann will report to Ron Perazza. The Creative Services department at the publisher is responsible for a variety of tasks, including maintaining DC’s website, producing and managing custom comics, special projects, advertising inserts, and acting as a liaison between DC’s creative and business departments.

This once again proves the superiority of DC comics over Marvel...

Ok, it really doesn’t. But it’s always fun to provoke fury between rival comic book clans.

In regards to how the new hire fits relative to any former Marvel/DC animosity, a source at DC said that Rosemann always stayed clear of any of the serious mudslinging, and was a professional through the day he left his position – earning and maintaining the respect of those at DC and around the industry.

Damn. Is he at least a Mac user?

isn't it kind of a dumb debate when you realize that good comics don't come from VPs and Sales Reps, they come from good creative teams?

haven't the vast majority of good creative teams(or good writers) worked for both companies at one time or another, as well as various smaller publishers?

doesn't this render a marvel versus dc debate pointless?

HAHAHA! So true. Marvel and DC may own the bigger pieces of the pie, but I'll wager I still get more respect from drawing my little Slave Labor title than most people slaving away on Iron Man or Martian Manhunter will ever get.

The really good/fun comics aren't found at Marvel or DC by and large.

That is all.

If it weren't for X-men throughout the '90s, Marvel would be putting out 2 books a month. DC also has a legacy. When people think of comics, you think of Superman and Batman. Marvel just doesn't have the storytelling to compete. Their books are bland and formulaic. Screw Marvel.

I don't normally get involved with these arguements since I only know a little bit about a little bit of the comic book stuff

but are you suggesting that Marvel doesn't have a legacy. Spider-man and The X-men at least will be around forever.... I think the correct quote would be when people like you think of comics they think of Superman and Batman.

Marvel's Ultimate comics have been really quite good, especially Ultimate Spider-Man.

1602 just came ou in HC, and it's fantastic.

Plus, Marvel's got Joss freakin' Whedon writing an X-Men comic.

I've probably got an equal amount of DC and Marvel gracing my shelves at the moment, but that's ONLY because of Sandman and Preacher.

What is cool is that now we're getting DC movies again. Batman Begins and Hellblazer both in 2005.

AT the end of the day, who cares about the publisher, really? It's a good time to be a fan of superheros. Enjoy.

Is anyone else even slightly pissed off that the film version of "Constantine" has:
1) An American playing John Constantine
2) That American happens to be Keanu Reeves
3) Keanu Reeves looks nothing like Sting
4) The entire story is set in Los Angeles

Just curious.

That really is true. I haven't been in a comic book store - or read one, for that matter - for years, but I still know Marvel owns way too much.

Throughout my childhood I was always a Marvel fan, but when I grew up I liked DC a lot better. The storylines are more interesting and the rogue's galleries in Marvel don't even come close to touching the villains of DC. I can only read about Spider-Man whipping Boomerang and Rocket Racer's ass so many times before I have to switch over to the Joker killing off virtually everyone Batman ever loved.

mega-dittoes!...yes.
I'll always hold affection for characters like Punisher, Doom, Zemo, Hobgoblin and Taskmaster, but I haven't consistently read a Marvel title in years.

Morrison's new JL series is the most exciting thing I've seen this year -from DC, or any of the big indies (at least out of what they send me.)

ok, thanks. Also, make certain to chime in on the next "Carnivale" vs. "The Shield" debate, or whatever, with the obligatory, "who cares, all tv is for stupids." Never miss an opportunity to be that guy.

Saying DC is better than Marvel, or vice-versa is like saying Universal Pictures are better than Columbia Pictures. The publisher matters liitle to me as opposed to the writers, artists, and development of the characters. Many of the talents working today have gone to work for both companies anyway. I'm a fan of Neil Gaiman, not DC, though he wrote for their Vertigo division like a god, and not of Marvel where he also did 1602 recently.

I see this as a pointless bickering over a minor part of this art form.

Oh, and Undone... The Constantine trailer brings pain to my brain in new and quite horrible ways.

The least they could have done was make him blond. But the non-english actor and setting will alienate most Hellblazer fans in my opinion...
