I have nothing but utter contempt for tradition. I fucking hate tradition, if we follow tradition all we do is support systems and rituals started by old white educated men. We have reached a point in society where gender, race, culture and ethnicity have crossed all bounderies.....that is why we must forget tradition and embrace our liberal democracy. If we continue to follow tradition all we are doing is upholding values and ideas that no longer belong in todays world.

This should blow your mind:

Our liberal democracy is based on a tradition.

our liberal democracy is not built on tradition!!! everything we have gained as a society has come about through government legislation, womesn rights, minority rights, these thigns all came about through intervention. The bible is tradition, and the bible has done nothing but slowed down the evolution of rights.

Depends on what you consider "tradition" to mean.

History is all about change and continuity, neither is more important or inherently better than the other.

It bothers me when peoples' dissatisfaction with the status quo blinds them to progress we have made, "two steps forward, one step back" or not. It's completely unproductive.

Liberal democracy was created. in no small part, by John Locke--and old educated white man.

And it is based on tradition. Britain, the cradle of liberalism, has no written constitution; it;s based entirely on convention, that is, tradition.

I believe every person has the same equal moral worth, and until we can forget tradition this will never be true,
