Of course it isn't right that employers are doing this. My point, and the one you seem to be missing is the people this affects allow it to happen. There are a number of terrible things in this world that "don't have to be like this " but unfortunately we don’t have some all-powerful force of goodness that can fly in and make everything nice.

My point was that people want to work in the game industry. They’ll do anything to get into it. Again, the majority of publishers out there exploit this fact. You wouldn’t find this happening in other “boring” fields unless the people being exploited stuck with the job because they absolutely needed the money to live, weren’t talented enough to get another job, or were dangerously inept.
