Germ13, Andrea puts out some great figures... I have the 54mm "Technocop" (Robocop knock-off) kit they produced. Excellent fine detail.

I didn't think it was a knock-off I thought it was what he was called in spain.

I was thinking about getting the Napoleonic 92nd (Gordon) Highlander (1815) and Leibstandarte SS "Adolf Hitler" figures. I just love 'em.

if i had spent more time with my dad as a kid, i wish we could have done stuff like making models together. when i have kids, i'd like to do things like that with them. i've never made a model, but i always thought it would cool thing to do. maybe i should go up to the hobby shop around the corner from my house.

i think it's because they're pretty restrictive. i'd rather build something that i created from scratch, rather than assemble some parts that came in a box with an instructions manual.

Germ, that may be correct.... not familiar with overseas retitling of films.

Mythony, give it a try... you'd be surprised just how much fun it can be. Also, if you want to try something challenging, yet quite inexpensive.. paper models might be the way to go. Try HERE first... a few items from Space:1999, MST3K, Python, Looney Tunes & more, all free for downloading with directions. Also try doing web searches for free paper models.... you'd be surprised how many sites are out there.

Jewcy, I suppose in one light they can be considered that way. I know of very few people that are content to build a kit "as-is", though... most look at a model kit as simply a base to add modifications, lighting & other bells & whistles, and so on.

As a kid, I built just about every WWII plane you can think of. My best work was a B-25 and a Stuka that came out *perfect* with the geometric camo that they used in certain theaters of the war. I sold all of them at a garage sale. frown

I also built some trains, including a full setup for around our Christmas tree. It was HO scale and had 8 or 9 buildings incorporated as well as a tunnel and bridge. I miss all that stuff and I'm sure I'll pick it up again when I have kids.

WWII planes... that reminds me... I have a freakin 1/32 scale F4U Corsair kit by Revell that's been in my closet waiting to be built for about 16 or 17 years now... frown

Still trying to get a few more references... that's one reason I tend to stick mostly to sci-fi stuff.... you can kinda fudge things a bit more there... replicating a real warplane is a whole other ballgame.
