ALright first off, why is it that when Socrates states that he knows nothing about anything he is called the smartest man in all of Athens, but when I say I know nothing about anything I get shit, WHAT THE FUCK?? Secondly when will girls ever become impressed by guys with mad video game skills,like enough with the Athleticism and book smarts. Really anyone can lift weights, it takes no talent, and just because you have a library card does not make you fucking yoda(yes i stole this line), anyone can read a book. It is time to give credit where credit is due!

Well, the really brilliant Carlin was before he turned into a crass, ranting old man. But honestly, I can deal with either version of him, because I find his worldview less depressing than Bill Hicks. George Carlin seems to me to be fucking around and having a good time. Hicks doesn't.

So i find plato easy, but something as simple as patting muself on the back is impossible for me.

and yeah when i was 12 i was a huge geek. But living at the ass end of nowhere it was that or shooting roos for fun.

Well, you did sorta open the door by saying that it was hard to read and understand, since the concepts aren't that complex and it's in fairly basic language. You'd have been better off arguing that not that many people want to read it. Which is true. And either way, explaining "The Republic" to someone is not going to get you laid.

Oh, and I still find Bill Hick's worldview depressing. I can deal with old men who think that the world is going to hell in a handbasket and there is no hope, just not people who retain some glimmer of hope, and then proceed to tell us all the things that are wrong with the world.

I said it takes a special dumbass to read plato, that is hardly opening the door for people to bombard me with how easy plato is..and i don't buy it, there is a reason you have university profs who spend their lives reading and trying to understand plato
