Liberal ideologues and conservative pundits have not seen the last of Michael Moore’s attack of President Bush. Variety reports that Moore will film a sequel to the documentary Fahrenheit 9/11. Dubbed Fahrenheit 9/11 ½, the film covers some of the same material in Moore’s documentary: Bush’s ties to the Saudis and the war in Iraq.

"Fifty-one percent of the American people lacked information (in this election) and we want to educate and enlighten them," Moore was quoted in Thursday's edition of Variety. "They weren't told the truth. We're communicators and it's up to us to start doing it now." [Â…]

"The official mourning period is over today and there is a silver lining: George W. Bush is prohibited by law from running again," Moore said.

After his announcement, Moore assumed the lotus position and ascended to the Heavens. Perfect roses and precious jewels appeared on everything he touched.

Man... I consider myself a fan of Michael Moore, but even I'm getting a little sick of him. I kinda wish he'd go away for a while. surreal

Knee-jerk liberals are as appealing to me as knee-jerk conservatives; on the plus side though, maybe this will keep him from getting to work on his sure to be scintillating healthcare extravaganza.

I agree. He's a hippocrite. Especially how he portrayed the media in Bowling for Columbine and doesn't realize he is a part of it. Will he ever do a happy film on the good of mankind? A film about how people are beutiful and life is valuable? No. The same reason why the nightly news covers death and destruction. It doesn't sell.

I think there is an inherent value in his kind of muckraking. Whether it pisses leftys, rightys and moderates off or not is immaterial (though, to be fair it's kind of the fun part).

Whether or not I like Moore personally or his movies, I think it's great that someone on the left has the balls to say "forget my reputation, I'm waging a political war." Because that's what the right wing has been doing for years.

Fine, there's a backlash against him going on. But I'm glad he's there.

Actually, I would argue that is what his films are mostly about. Example: life is worthwhile and people are basically good, so it's immoral to take away thier jobs (Roger & Me)/shoot them (BfC)/send them to be killed in Iraq (F9/11). I won't defend everything he's done, but I don't think it's accurate to call his film's negative either. I do think he sincerely believes he's helping people and doing Good.

Happiness and light is different for everyone.
Death and destruction is pretty objective. It's a universal ill. We can relate to it.
Also, nothing needs to be done about the good of mankind. We get it. It's good. Death and destruction are not good. Something should be done, etc.

Moore should stop making lousy documentaries, and start watching them, he could start with Super Size Me...

Just to balance out the pit of people mawling over each other to attack Micheal Moore, I would like to say, that I like him and glad he is there. I don't think he is always 100% right, but again, I am really glad he is there.

How do you feel about knee-jerk moderates?

How do you feel about knee-jerk moderates? I'm tired of people who think that anything "extreme" is automatically equal to the "opposite extreme." These so-called extremes are nearly always arbitrary points along a spectrum that generally stretches out much further in each direction.

Look up the fallacy of the golden mean, buddy.

So does he think all the people that lacked information (apparently those who missed his first movie) will run out to see the sequel or what?

I didn't even know documentaries had sequels.

When you say that he is fat and nothing else it makes you out to be stupid and judgmental. Along the lines of the bully on a school play ground. If your going to say something about the guy atleast make it intelligent. Pretending to be clever by not saying "hes fat" and wording it the way you did doesn't coun't. It's almost as bad as attacking someone you disagree with by only stating that they can't spell very well.

I haven't seen the film, but yes, a film that is about a man who eats nothing but McDonalds food for 3 weeks or so totally trumps a movie about the secretive actions of the american government.

God... if about 5-10% of the US thought like Moore, we wouldn't have Alfred E. Newman in office again.

uh...I thought he was doing a documentary condemning the American Health Care system and how we should all use canadian health care...

I suppose that's alright...as long as I can keep my own dental plan...

whatever...I seriously doubt this film will be any more successful or unsuccessful in keeping bush from being re-elected.
