I think the movie that creeped me out the most of any that I had ever watched is 'Intruders'. A flick about alien abuction. Every time I see a utility company truck at night I get nervous now. I still don't think I could watch it alone.

"Don't Look Now" IS an incredibly creepy movie... plus Julie Christie is superhot.

but...

"Cannibal Holocaust" as a recommendation for a non-gory movie!?

One of the creepiest movies ever made, but which might be a little too high on the gore scale, is Dario Argento's "Suspiria."

Also, the original "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" actually has not a single drop of blood in it. It's just so creepy and disturbing that everybody remembers it being much worse than it is.

Has anyone said May? That was pretty unsettling. I also love Dog Soldiers, but it's not what I would call scary unless you just have something about werewolves.

I've seen'em both. DOG SOLDIERS was very good and entertaining. And MAY was just okay in my book. I thought some of the acting wasn't very good. The main Actress who played MAY was excellent, though.

If you liked MAY, then you should check out LOVE OBJECT - it's basically a male version of MAY, and even more twisted.

Is the Prince of Darkness the one with the evil slurpee goo on the ceiling that drips in peoples mouths? If so.... yeah, not so scary. It's a satanic slurpee for christs sake.

Here's a vote for The Thing. Alfred Brimley was brillant.

It's not scary. Just very heavy on the gore and violence. I had a very hard time watching it.
My roomate at the time was so offended by it, she walked out before it finished.. She loves horror movies.,

while placing the dolls on the lake bottom she sees a horrifying sight: a little girl perfectly preserved in a pinafore laying on a small marble shrine with the words "Forgive me, Kathleen" carved on it. In terror, and taking water, she swims to the surface only to be confronted by someone wielding an ax. There is no place to hide and she dies hideously, her body dragged into the brush.......
And that my friends is from another great ( but overlooked) classic from a young Francis Ford Copalla Shot in two ( maybe 3) days, all in black and white, filmed only at night.....a really great creepy movie that set the mold for tons of other films...

I just saw "Saw" tonight...thought it was gonna totally suck, but it was actually very good. Lot's of suspense, good plotline with a few twists, decent acting, and wasn't just total gore, allthough there was quite a bit.

"decent acting"
Is this the first movie you've ever seen?

dementia 13 is a good movie... here are some other great classics:

the brain that wouldn't die (cheezy but funny)
chistmas evil (scary and fucked up as hell)
silent night, bloody night
the devil's nightmare
messiah of evil
god told me to (has andy kauffman cameo)
return of the blind dead
don't go in the house

and if you're looking for sensless gross-out gore in the daylight, any of the Brain Damage movies will do.

wink enjoy
