Oh, those nerds. Yeah, I used to smoke joints in this park across the street from my city college a few years ago and sometimes they would be swordfighting and geeking out in costumes. It was quite hilarious. They just took themselves so seriously.

They used to hang out at the lake back home. It was an organization called "Ampguard," though I don't know if the name is the same anywhere else.

Foam-padded PVC swords and tennis balls with streamers.

What the fuck is wrong with you people, mullets were at their height of popularity during the middle ages. This guy fucking rocks for the attention to detail in his period-accurate piece.

Yes, the name is the same everywhere, I would assume. As the kids, er... adults... around here call it Ampguard as well.

That's one of my favorite episodes. They show up in another one, when Dangle and Garcia are getting a petition signed to save their moustaches.

All my best friends in high school were into this. Very, veryvery seriously into it. There was a park downtown that they named Kingdom Greydust where they would "engage in battle" every Sunday morning.

A lot of them had friends online that enacted similar battles in Indiana. So one Saturday night after smoking a lot of pot and drinking too much, a few carloads of them decided to stay up all night and drive to Indiana to surprise ambush the other kingdom.

So yeah, they were uber nerds but it sounded like a lot of fun in a way.

All of those people have more friends than I do. I'm not going to judge.
