Do you have any? I've noticed from reading my own posts that all I ever seem to talk about is... me. I, me, I've, mine, my, etc all appear far too much in... gulp... my posts, but there's really nothing I can do about it.

Just not eloquent enough.

And I always thought that I could be a writer, back when I was 13.

And you?

I'm interested in English Usage and Grammar and stuff. I even set up an English Usage group, which makes people think I know something about it. Unfortunately I'm thick as pigshit, so I often make hideous mistakes.

And I worry that lots of the stuff I say is creepy. whatever

That's because you are creepy!

I'm quite interested in the usage, too. My spoken English is quite bad - I've even developed this... "Speech artifact" where if I fuck up in the middle of a word, instead of stopping I'll just start making turkey noises (no, seriously). It starts off like a stutter but then I just end up making noises. Thankfully it only happens about once every couple of days.

Either way, that's why I like to make sure my written English is up-to-scratch. I do a little bit of writing for a couple of websites, and I have to say that decent editors are the best thing ever. At least, for me.

Joined the group. Ta. smile

I tend to make the following errors:

Gramatical
Make any sense
consistency
spelling
punctuation

I dont know how to spell 3 out of the 6 errors.

That and once I post im always going back the next second to edit it.

I'm with you there. tongue

I cringe sometimes when I type something because of doubt. My fast little fingers sometimes do not listen to rhyme nor reason, at least grammatically. At least I can spell.

Sometimes I'm a thread killer. Actually, most of the time, I am, so I hesitate before posting a lot of the time. At first I thought this thread was about handwriting.

The thread killing thing is a worry, but I blame timezones not my shonky posts.

Handwriting is interesting, because my handwriting is terrible. This websitehas some hints and tips, and help for repairing bad handwriting. It's an Icelandic system and some of it is a little bit weird, but I found it quite helpful. I'm lefthanded, and he suggests that I turn the paper upside down which then makes writing very tricky, but if I ever have left handed childrens I'm going to teach them that way because hey, everyone needs a party trick.

Whatever, yo. I write perfectly. I don't have dangling participles, split infitinitives, or sentences ending in prepositions. I use "who," "whom," "there," "they're," and "their" correctly all the time.

I am sooooooo awesome.

I often get the impression that I'm some sort of a "Thread Killer".
Each time there seems to be a lively discussion going on, I post something and the thread either dies out completely, or remains untouched for a long long time. frown

It's the internet.

I reserve the right to talk consistently and shamelessly about myself.

And about other people's boobs, from time to time.

That's why the internet is great. Neither of these practices hold up well in the real world. Not that it stops them from dominating most of my conversations...

yay lefties. my handwriting is suprisingly good considering the archaic way that i hold a pencil. think of a clenched fist. not exactly, but it's close. (i actually hold it between my last two fingers and very tightly) i always break the lead on those mechanical pencils. also, i've found that it's oftentimes easier for me to turn the paper upside-down or near upside-down.

as far as the writing thing goes. i HATE the way that i write. i think it all boils down to a shitty experience in junior year ap english (highschool). basically the teacher hated me. i've thought myself a hack at writing ever since then. i'm starting my english 101 class in january after having been out of school for a few years. eek!

My handwriting is quite nice... few years ago I attempted to develop my style into all-caps graffiti. It kinda got a little way there and is now a really nice, angular scrawl.

I use far to many of these !!!!! and I generally write like I speak which is quite jokey and piss taking but I don't think it comes over too well and I often just sound very thick. I also post way too much very late at night with the use of one very tired eye which doesn't help matters....doesn't quell my need to comment all the time though wink
