Those are all good colleges. Check out Ryerson - it was recently upgraded to a univeristy but still has a very community college feel. And you'll have problems with student loans if you aren't from Ontario.

Although if you're loooking for any computer programming courses, not merely community colleges, you need University of Waterloo - the MIT of the North.

You can also look at Seneca College if you want to go the community collage route. It has several locations in the Toronto area.

Unfortunately as far as student loans go you will not be eligible for government funding unless you are a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. This means you will have to deal with the banks, however if you are on a student visa I believe you are allowed limited ability to work.

I am pretty sure that you can get federal financial aide, even if you are attending a Canadian school.

so if i were to get approved for a study permit (which im guessing would be a lot faster than the immigration process) can i simultaneously be going through the canadian immigration process? i.e. by the time i get done with a year of college under the study permit, i'd have my permenant residancy approved?

not sure if anyone would know this but thought id ask. im assuming it would work though.

Centennial College signed a deal with HP and has a pretty decent computer programming course ... and I had two American students in my class when I went there a few years ago ... so I know they'll take ya.

I think as long as you have money, they'll take you.
