before this afternoon, i had never seen a single moment of 'arrested development', but on the urging of a friend of mine whose opinion i highly value, i went out and blew 32 bucks of my paycheck on the DVD set of the 1st season

it makes me wish i watched more TV. how did i not know about this? it's the funniest television show i have seen in years. i have only watched the first two episodes, and i am in stitches

november 7th can't come fast enough

Is that the Fox show with David Cross ( love ) and Portia deRosi? I must admit, the first few times I saw it I wan't overly impressed, but I'm sorta addicted to it now.

yeah, that's the one. i like how, as off the beaten path it is, it is not so over-the-edge ironic that it comes across as 30 minutes of the guy in the geico ad doing the robot.

I love Arrested Development; I can't properly put into words how much I enjoy this show. Shame on you for never seeing it before now, but congrats on blowing your money to buy YOURSELF the first season on DVD.

arrested development will save the sitcom format (not that it needed saving).

Lucille: "Who let you in?"
Michael: "Your new cleaning woman. What happened to Luz?"
Lucille: "Supposedly, Luz had to take her daughter to the hospital. That’s Lupe, her sister."
Michael: "I hope she’s okay."
Lucille: "She’s awful. Can barely wash a dish. Uh-oh! She better not walk through here after she’s been in there."
Michael: "Mother..."
Lucille: "Oh, please. They didn’t sneak into this country to be your friends."

From Season Two Episode Two:

G.O.B.: "I bleeped the business model. Yeah, she had all kinds of orgasms."

Buster: "You lied to me! You both lied to me! I'm going to war."
Lucille: "Buster, you can't!"
Buster: "YES I CAN! I don't agree with your dirty doings here but I will defend with my life your right to do it!"

This show makes me want to invest in TiVo.

I wasn't a fan at first but I've really gotten into it as I watched more. I wanted to like it and I'm glad I do. George Michael is my favorite.

It just needs more David Cross.
It's still a great show, though.

I've seen it a few times. It reminds me of that movie The Tannenbaums. Only better. the humor is either totally goofy & wacky or dry & crisp. The oddball consortium of characters is great!! Like having a 3-ring circus for a family. wink

When it came out I attmepted to watch the pilot as it has Jeff Tambor (Hank kingsley) in it.

I lasted less than five minutes and have never turned back.
