I owe about $50,000 so at least I should be thankful that I don't have to wear the gimp mask when my loan is fucking me.

Nope, just a regular UK University.

I did a 3 year BSc, which turned into a 4 year one, then an MSc that I had to fund myself (which I abandoned due to 'lack of funds'), and now I'm doing another MSc (which is a requirement of my current employment and, fortunately, entirely funded by my employer! smile ).

Living costs a lot more than the courses and the course fees in the UK have now greatly increased since I started the BSc in '97. Future students stand the risk of much greater debts in exchange for no guarantee of employment as the graduate market is already saturated.

I can't even get enough loans to cover my tuition, they should want to give me enough dough to get through school so that they can become rich off the intrest but no they need to fuck with me instead. Why does it have to be so complicated splitting loans over semesters and shit come on just give a bunch of money ITS NOT LIKE i CAN AVOID PAYING IT i HAVE PRETTY MUCH SIGNED OVER MY SOUL TO THESE FUCKING MONEY LENDERS!!! I actually didn't mean to go caps there but I think it works quite nicely don't you. mad mad mad

I got one right now, and I'm probably going to have to take another when I plan on going back to school...
Right now though, to pay the bills, I'm working at a collection agency- colecting on student loans (and for the record, the people i'm calling are people who haven't made a single payment in years, a lot of them are the reason student loans have so many regulations and stuff in them now [like how bankruptcy can't clear them for over a decade, at which point, if you haven't paid a cent, you will have had a judgement on you and your wages garnisheed or your tax returns getting a lean on them, or a whole slough of other bad stuff]) if people work with me and are upfront and make an honest attempt to pay, I'll work with them, the only ones I suggest to sue are the one's who lie like a rug, or who think it's nice to pepper someone with racial slurs

As much as it sucks being in debt, I wouldn't be getting a education at all without 'em. And being an uneducated ditch-digger sucks even more.

i owe 10g's for nothing...itook some puter classes way back when and still paying for em now. I gues sthey helped with me getting the job i have now, but I should be making 50-75% more than I am, and they keep blaming the "cost of living" in this area. sure....likei wouldnt the same rent with one roommate in NYC...bastards...meanwhle my co worker makes 30% more than I do and I pull 75% more work than he does.,..but he does golf so and is good friends witht the boss....

i remember tellin my boss that i went to the burlesque tour in northhampton and e was not satisfied by my "extra-curicular activities" I gues G costs me more than just the membership... biggrin

if people are just going to school for something for no reason other than making money, I would seriously seriously reccomend going into a trade- you get the job and make money first, then at the end of each year you go for some schooling (which if you work for a good company, they will pay for it) and then when you finish your last year of school you get your trade certificate, which pretty much is like a guaranteed raise. Oh, and thanks to kids being pushed into university and college by parents because it's the 'only way to get ahead' theres actually a shortage of tradespeople in many places

Also, these jobs can be hard to outsource.

Also, it is a good way to be self employed, at least in the US.
