Hmm...Classics like Transformers and G.I.Joe. I loved those. Of course, having seen a classic episode more recently, they were shallow as a mirage...or the genepools of some of the people I deal with. Of course, they were also advertising vehicles for toys.

But G.I.Joe had some great public service announcements.

"and knowing is half the battle"

Fucking ankle biters. mad

Real telly was
"Ludwig" (FANTASTIC mecha-egg oddness.),
"Bagpuss" (Get this on video if you can, it's fantastic)
"Vicky the Viking"
"Jamie and his magic torch" (Best theme tune ever),
"Crystal Tips and Alistair" (she had the best hair ever),
"Bod", (hum that tune.)
"Chorlton and the wheelies" (scary and a bit trippy),
"Fingerbobs" (But that guy was well creepy),
"Mary Mungo and Midge",
and finally the camp greatness that was "Willo the wisp".

Oh, and there was something about a squirrel conductor too. Oh, and osme of the "MoominTroll" animations were good, but the 'objects on glass' ones, not the cel-drawn ones.

*gets all misty eyed and nostalgic*

I got the entire series on DVD recently! Nobody but me was impressed...

And lets not forget Dangermouse (just to get back to cartoons).

I'm shocked and dismayed that my daughter will not even watch the old Looney Tunes. You know. Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Roadrunner... yeah. She says they're.... wait for it.... BORING! Boring?!?! I don't think so, Bean. Pokemon is boring. The new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is boring. DragonballZ is boring. Those old Looney Tunes cartoons have so much adult humor mixed in, sexual innuendos. They're great.

C'mon kids. None of these cartoons qualify to hold Bugs Bunny's nut sack. Sure, every so often there is something that comes along that is cool (Ren & Stimpy, Zim, Animaniacs), but nothing kicks ass more than the Warner Brothers cartoons of old.

Some of the people promoting the old WB cartoons have a point. They were designed with a wide audience in mind. Of course, I have some question of whether or not they'd pass hollywoods muster today.

Explosives? In a childrens show? Sure, and great fun too. Watch Wiley Coyote blow himself up AGAIN!

And the doublebarrel shotgun with the blue, no red, bow tied on it is also classic.

I, too, enjoyed HB cartoons, but those were definately produts of their time. What, Jane Jetson stays home? Oh, does she telecommute? No? Then why does she stay home?

Personnaly, i was a big fan of cartoons that stuck their fingers in the barrel of the gun, making it explode on the person shooting it.
