I work for a smallish company doing User Interface modules in C++ most of the day. I've also, somehow ended up doing a bunch of network code there too. I had to learn it as I went. It's fun cause they give me a lot of responsibility, and the people are cool.
Ive worked at a much larger company and it was utter hell. No one gave a shit about what they were doing and if they did, they didnt know what they were doing, so it didnt matter anyways. The end result was that I spent an entire summer getting nothing done.
Programming is a lot of fun as long as there is some variety to what youre coding.
Im coding games in C++ and currently using renderware graphics, (or as we usually refer to it: rendercrap).
Btw; if anyone here is a renderware-guru and can tell me why changing the alpha on clumps (meshes), please let me know.
