you grow up in a city, you are bound to deal with stereotypes. to say this film used too many stereotypes is kind of silly anyway, since it's a TRUE story. and not everyone grew up watching TV with their parents. some of us didn't have TV's, some of us didn't have parents. not relating to a story, a true story, just means that, you don't relate to it. it's important to try to relate to something you don't understand, instead of just writing it off as a shitty movie.
