Hey,

I was watching "HEAT" starring Bob and Al* earlier. Love the shoot-out right after the bank robbery. Gives me an erection.

There are many movie shoot-outs that I love. What are some of yours?

*by the way, what type of rifle does Al Pacino used in that gun fight? Love that thing.

Heat is one of the best I can think of, but you can't go wrong with The Killer or Hard Boiled. Particularly the final scene of The Killer. Different, sillier kind of action than Heat but very good.

The fight in the original Matrix when Neo and Trinity go to rescue Morpheus.

Not really a movie, but In Band of Brothers, the final attack on Foy when Spears charges straight through the town and back again.

"Way of the Gun" and "Heat" have already been mentioned...

How about the final scene from "Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid"?

That WAS pretty bad-ass. Don't forget, in WWII the actual man really did that! Maybe not exactly the way the actor did, but the bullets zinging around him were real at the time. Now I want to watch my BOB DVDs again...

The end of Open Range was pretty freakin' cool too. One of the best Western shoot outs I've ever seen. So-so movie, but GREAT gunfight.

Definitely the gun fights in Equilibrium. Also a lot of the ones in Albert Pyun's films... the ones that stand out in my mind were in Mean Guns and Nemesis.

I still have yet to see Heat.....

"I just saw Heat!"
"Dude, I saw that six years ago"
"Yeah, but I wanna talk about it now!"

Already mentioned:

Heat - best shootout I've ever seen put on film.

Way of the Gun - the last 10 minutes of shootout are the only reason it made my collection.

Hard Boiled - Chow Yun Fat and John Woo used to be such a fucking amazing actor/director team. What the hell happened?

The Matrix - The lobby shootout was fucking incredible. Fantastic eye candy.

Tombstone - The gunfight at the OK Corral was fantastic. Great set up, great build up, and great delivery.

Not mentioned yet:

Full Metal Jacket - Okay, so maybe not a shootout in the strictest sense, but, damn, the sniper scene was impossible to look away from.

The Professional - Jean Reno taking on the Chicago SWAT team was great.

Raiders of the Lost Ark - Indy vs. the Sword-weilding idiot puts into pictures why one shouldn't bring a sword to a gunfight.

The Untouchables - The shootout in the rail station is my all-time favorite. Incredible job stretching the suspense in the build-up.

I was going to say this, but then I realized that the Mexican standoff before the actual shooting was way cooler than the shootout itself. But the Italian guy behind the couch is super awesome.

Damn yeah, I forgot about Mean Guns, that movie was one of the best shoot outs. Almost the whole movie is a shoot out with just enough plot to make it work.

Plus it has Ice-T and Christopher Lambert shocked

Does the hit scene in Pulp Fiction count? Or how about the closer in Unforgiven?

Does it matter? These guys did it the best:
